Learning and Development

At GWA Learning and Development is a priority.  We believe that everyone keeps learning, every day and we make it as easy as possible for our people to drive their own development.  We have a range of learning and development platforms to suit everyone, so that every day can be a learning day!

Great Beginnings – is our group wide on-boarding program that our new starters take part in.  Our approach to on-boarding is to drive social connectivity, alignment to our purpose and cultural pillars and provide the support to allow our new team members to flourish in their roles from the very beginning of their journey at GWA.

We also have a range of group wide learning events that are available to all our employees:

Great Conversations – our premium learning event where  we bring employees together to inform and inspire new ways of working, through quality conversations from both internal and external speakers.

Good to Know – an interesting alternative to your typical lunch break, these sessions are hosted by a range of speakers and the topics are both interesting and relevant to audiences across the business.

H2O – our How 2 Operate sessions are short webinars that provide training on operational or technical ‘hot topics’.

iLead – is our leadership competency framework that outlines the competencies that we believe are necessary to be successful at GWA.  All our development programs are aligned to building competencies within this framework.

iLearn – is our online learning platform, with a wealth of resources, online training and learning opportunities available at any time, with the click of a button.

Our Community Focus

At GWA we are committed to Making Life Better for the communities in which we live.  We have a range of charity partners that we support across our different locations.  We encourage all our people to get involved, by supporting internal events and fundraisers, or taking time outside of work to take part in charity events.  Our current charity partners include The Smith Family in Australia and Sustainable Coastlines in New Zealand and we support Macmillan Cancer Support in the UK.
